Non-System Disk or Disk Error: What Works? Show graphically

From time to time, when you turn on your computer, a black screen with Non-System Disk or Disk Error appears. This message simply means that Windows could not find the startup files.

For this there are two possible explanations:

1] The simplest is that a disk is left in the drive FDD, which is quite easy to solve, simply remove the disk and restart .

2] The other possibility is that the system files have disappeared from the hard drive or they are damaged, and why you need the repair.

For the second: Restart your PC with a floppy boot. At the command prompt (A: \\), type the command sys c: and press [Enter]. Windows XP is a bit more complex, you will need after you restart your machine with your CD in the drive when the message Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM appears, press a key on your keyboard. After a few seconds the installation menu appears, then press the R key for repair. The collection offers concole So log on to Windows XP. Normally Windows XP is installed on one partition, pressing the numbered [1]. Account Administarteur is automatically enabled, you must then enter your password connected to this account. Then the command prompt (C: \\ Windows>) appears and you just have to type the command to restore the boot sector: for this type: fixboot c:, assuming of course that your active partition is that of drive C.

You just have to restart your machine using the commance EXIT.
